Bead Peeps Swap N Hop 2020

The reveal day is finally here!
So, why wait – get, set go ……..

Phew, finally finished! The photo doesn't do the colors justice really, it's such a bright and sparkly necklace! The Lapiz lazuli clasp was my most favourite piece in the goodies Dora sent . Was always wanting to make a friform beaded necklace with all those lovely beads that my previous Swap partners had sent , and this clasp along with the blue Czech beads Dora sent just seemed perfect. 

Another piece that I instantly fell in love with is the traditional Croatian filigree bead. Always admiring the folk costumes around the world, this beauty needed to be showcased in the same traditional  style . So I added some beaded beads in matching colors and created this one.

As always, this year too my endeavour has been to learn something new. Ever since I started taking part in the Bead Peeps Swap and Hop, I have made a self rule to make something I havent tried before. Be it a technique in Bead work or an accessory. Just like new partners in this challenge, I have been blessed to get wonderful bead from Bead artists from all around the World . This year too I had  an amazing partner Trogdora Orensik  - who is also the Grand Prize winner of last years Swap. . My happiness knew no bounds when I got the lovely collection of beads she sent me.I enjoyed working on these beautiful beads and I hope I can create  more from  the lovely goodies she  has sent me . 

As always.I come away from this Swap exploring and learning more of the wonderful Bead world out there.

Beaded bowl

This little cup of happiness is brimming over!
One more step in the journey of learning. A shaped bead woven bowl in the vibrant colours of happiness.

Refashioned Jewellery.

Many a times, there are pieces in the trinket box that do`nt get worn either because they are out dated, broken or not liked. And like most women, I too have a share of those lying around in my box. Recently while rearranging my trinkets, I happened to stumble across this old necklace . Never worn it as I hated it on sight. The pattern and style looked too out dated according to me. So, in a creative mood, I sat down to turn it into a trendier version , something I would like to wear with my sarees

Tribal Vibes

Yes, I know, it`s been a while but I`m still around! That`s the thought going around in my mind as I pen this post. Being active on other social media, it`s been quiet here since the last few months. Though things have been quite busy as far as creative endeavour goes.
  Here`s a glimpse of some projects that have kept me hooked on my bead mat. My skills in beading are improving, and so  ideas just take wings. And so is my collection of beaded jewellery growing in leaps and bounds

Trendy Traditionals

Been away for a long while now. Thought I would share my latest project , a first time order to create patterns based on Indian textiles for a dear friend.
 I was a bit of a challenge since I don`t have a software to create designs, every motif was manually charted, but I and Mom( she`s an avid beader too ! ) finally finished the project.and here`s the outcome...

Completed the last of the borders designed on a special request , all vibrant and colorful, based on the traditional motifs of India. What a lovely journey it has been.!

Silver Ethnic Necklace- beaded !!

Sharing another necklace I made a couple of months ago. One way or other have not been able to post pictures of what I have made so here goes....

Latest necklace off the bead mat , a unique fusion piece combining intricate bead weaving with vintage Thai silver pendant. Rich Thai textile inspired the bead weaving pattern for this one and
I am quite proud with the outcome!

Purely Purple- Flaunting a new necklace

  Diwali has come and gone and the cooler months of November and December have come. Though the climate is one that I love, it gets dark pretty fast for me to pursue my beadwork . Hence the projects are progressing at a very slow pace. But it does give me time to catch up with what`s happening in the internet world. Projects that are waiting to be blogged about has been the first on the list.And of course vising all the posts I`ve missed reading from my blogger friends.
 So here`s what I had made for myself for Diwali , an up-cycled piece of jewellery, a little new thing for my birthday as well as Diwali

Since the pendant was small. I wanted a narrow motif to enhance the beauty of the intricate gold work. . Shades of purple were just right for it is one shade sadly lacking in my collection. And the touch of  nicely compliments  the purple colour.

Bead Peeps Swap and Hop Reveal.

Treasures unearthed- Finally!

Here`s the day I`ve been waiting for! The Reavel day for the Bead Peeps Swap n Hop challenge 2016. It has been a journey full of new beginings so to say , right from being partenered with a most wonderful friend and beader Krafty Max to learning new techniques and finally creating this wonderful collection from the lovely beads she sent me .

 Here`s what I have made ;

This collection is my favourite as I love a touch of ethnic combination as as soon as I saw the turquoise howlite drop beads, I decided to make something with coral color. Asian influence is definately showing here. The black lava drop beads sent by my partner are an added advantage. I could make lovely earrings too!

 The next piece is a tassel necklace and I have been wanting to create for some time but never got around doing it. The blue flat bead from my swap goodies was perfect for this one .The intricate minakari (enamel jewellery) always fascinates me, so here`s the necklace " Jaipur" , I`ve named from the place this art is famous for .

There were also two sets of seed bead mixes which I really loved. Hence I created two different necklaces each in a different technique. It was a bit of a challenge as I had to do and undo a few times till I got the look I wanted. Here`s the first one which I have named " Jewel of the Nile " The seed bead mix of blue remininded me of the deep waters of the flowing river and the Swarovski Navette bead focal a treasure glistening in that water. My photo skills are sadly lacking and I have not been able to capture the shimmer of this necklace . It glows as if it is really flowing water if you know what I mean.

And this is the next seed bead mix necklace. I had these beautiful topaz beads that I had got years ago from Rajasthan, but never made anything for want of a correct compliment accessory . The colors of the bead mix was beautifull! Translucent, soft and muted!! Reminded me of semi precious gemstone . So they had to be matched with the topaz . I made the beaded beads with ladder stitch and here it is My necklace " Golden Trails"

 Look at the collection I have made. My jewellery box is full of treasures, thanks to my generous partner Krafty Max. I to say I am thrilled would be putting it mildly And a special thanks to Linda Anderson too; our hostess for organizing the hop.

A bracelet in circular Netting !

Here is a bracelet in circular netting that I made recently for a challenge  . I chose subdued colors in silver to offset the bright colored coral beads. The turquoise colored glass beads add a touch of  contrast, inspired by the vintage silver Himalayan jewellery that I`m so fond of.
 Thank You Coco for the lovely pattern. It was fun creating this piece. A big thank you to the team of Perlesdentelles team for hosting this workshop!

Ethnic Bling Necklace-2

  I haven't posted anything here lately ,  but have been  busy experimenting with new ideas and trying many new techniques and revisiting some old techniques. My last blog entry about a similar necklace I made for a friend .  Though  I've managed to produce something  every week , my blog has been seriously neglected.
  Here`s another necklace in the same technique , I have made. The photo quality is not very good as they have been taken on my phone, but believe me , the colors in the necklace have come out bright and gorgeous .

I think I'm not over with these ethnic beaded necklaces yet . I'm totally fascinated by them and want to make more and more designs !
